Kootenay Collective Cannabis Society is committed to making its website accessible and usable for as many people as reasonably possible.Our website is intended to serve the general public, members, prospective members, buyers, retailers, producers, community partners, government representatives, and others interested in the Kootenay cannabis sector. Kootenay Collective Cannabis Society is a British Columbia society incorporated under the Societies Act with incorporation number S0084079.
We aim to provide a website that is clear, readable, navigable, and accessible to users with a range of abilities, devices, browsers, and assistive technologies. Where reasonably practicable, we work toward recognized accessibility practices, including the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, commonly referred to as WCAG, at the Level AA standard.
We aim to make our website:
readable with clear structure and plain language;
usable with keyboard navigation where possible;
compatible with common screen readers and assistive technologies;
organized with meaningful headings and page structure;
supported by descriptive link text;
designed with reasonable colour contrast;
usable on mobile, tablet, and desktop devices;
supported by alternative text for meaningful images where appropriate.
Our website may use third-party platforms, templates, plugins, embeds, analytics tools, social media integrations, maps, forms, or other services. Some accessibility limitations may be caused by third-party tools or services that we do not fully control. Where possible, we will choose tools and settings that support accessibility and usability.
Our website uses photography and visual content to communicate the landscape, culture, and people connected to the Kootenay cannabis sector. We aim to include alternative text or other accessible descriptions for meaningful images where appropriate. Some decorative images may not include detailed descriptions if they do not add substantive information to the page.
If you need information from our website in a different format, contact us and we will make reasonable efforts to provide it in a way that works for you. Examples may include:
plain-text versions of website content;
larger-print documents;
accessible PDFs, where available;
direct assistance by email.
We welcome feedback about the accessibility of our website. If you experience a barrier, find something difficult to use, or need information in another format, contact us at: info@kootenaycollective.org. Please include, where possible:
the page or content you were trying to access;
the issue you experienced;
the device, browser, or assistive technology you were using;
the format or support that would help.
We will review accessibility feedback and respond where appropriate.
Accessibility is an ongoing process. We expect to improve the website over time as content, tools, standards, and Society activities evolve. We do not claim that every part of the website is perfect or fully compliant at all times. We do commit to taking accessibility seriously, responding to reasonable feedback, and improving the site where practical.
